This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website, bookings, programs, workshops, and related services in Australia.

You should not have to guess what happens to your information. This page is designed to make that clear.

How This Policy Applies

Some small businesses are exempt from parts of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Even where an exemption may apply, we handle personal information in line with the APPs and the standards set out in this policy.

  • Booking & service data: session history, goals you choose to share, preferences, notes, and agreed actions
  • Transaction data: invoices, payments, purchase history (we do not store full card details)
  • Communications: emails, form submissions, testimonials/feedback
  • Website & device data: IP address, pages viewed, timestamps, and cookies or similar technologies (see “Cookies & analytics”)
  • Sensitive information (limited): only with your explicit consent and only where relevant to the support you request. You can decline to provide sensitive details.

If You Do Not Provide Information

You can choose not to provide some personal information. In some cases, that means we may not be able to provide a service, confirm a booking, respond to your request, or tailor support appropriately.

How We Collect Information

  • Directly from you via discovery calls, coaching sessions, readiness sessions, bookings, forms, email, events, and workshops
  • Automatically when you use our site (analytics, cookies, logs)
  • From third parties you authorise (e.g., a referral partner) or public sources (e.g., LinkedIn) for business contact details

Anonymity and Pseudonymity

Where it is lawful and practical, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym (for example, general website browsing or an initial enquiry). For most booked services, we need your real identity and contact details to provide support safely and effectively.

Why We Collect and Use Your Information

  • To provide coaching, workshops, and related services you request
  • To schedule, confirm, reschedule, and administer sessions and courses
  • To issue quotes, invoices, receipts, and manage accounts
  • To improve our programs, website, and client experience
  • To send service messages and, if you opt in, updates and resources (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To comply with laws (e.g., record-keeping, taxation) and manage risk, disputes, and regulatory requests

Direct Marketing

If you opt in, we may send updates and resources relevant to your interests. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link, by emailing sarah@l3coaching.me, or through contact us.

Disclosing Your Information

We may share personal information with:

  • Service providers under contract (e.g., website hosting, email/CRM, booking/scheduling, analytics, payment processing). They may only use your data to help us deliver services.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) under duties of confidentiality.
  • Authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect safety, rights, or property.
  • Overseas disclosure: some providers may store or process data outside Australia (for example, the United States, the European Union, or other regions where their infrastructure operates). Where practicable, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients protect personal information in a way that is substantially similar to the APPs.

  • Correction: you can ask us to correct inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete information (APP 13)

To request access or correction, email sarah@l3coaching.me. We may need to verify your identity before actioning your request. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will explain why (except where we are legally prevented from doing so).

Cookies & Analytics

We use essential cookies to make our site work and optional analytics cookies to understand site usage and improve content. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may impact site functionality. If we use third-party analytics or ad tools, they may set their own cookies.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit where supported, staff confidentiality obligations, and vendor due diligence). If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will assess and, where required, notify affected individuals and the OAIC under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

No online environment is completely risk free. While we take reasonable steps to secure your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law (e.g., business and tax record-keeping). When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to de-identify or securely destroy it.

Children

Our services are designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without parent/guardian consent.
